Help through Crisis

What is it?

12 week programme of wrap-around advice, support and advocacy for people in Newham.

We help people who:

  • Are facing a crisis or financial hardship
  • Need advice to resolve their problems, such as money issues or housing, and help to access and navigate services
    • May be experiencing complex issues such as domestic abuse, physical or mental health challenges or social isolation
  • Would struggle to act on the advice provided without extra support

Our social work team can help with the following:

  • Support from a dedicated crisis navigator who will work with you to develop solutions to the issues you are facing
  • Provide vouchers for the Trussell Trust foodbanks and signpost to other smaller local food banks
  • Provide emergency shopping vouchers
  • Provide information about local support groups
  • Provide regular emotional support
  • Identify support needs and make necessary referrals to in-house services and external agencies
  • Training and in-house volunteering opportunities to enhance skills and self-confidence
  • Access to peer support groups to build resilience and social networks
